Samsung worked with CNET to create a forum where people can ask questions and talk about all Samsung products and get help with everything from HDTVs, Smart TVs, home theater components, phones, cameras to monitors and printers. This forum is staffed by Samsung employees, but as we have seen in the past, often the most helpful answers come from CNET forum members themselves so please don't consider this just a Q and A with Samsung. This is a CNET forum and Samsung is here to be part of the conversation. When attempting to set the native resolution for this new monitor, the properties in Display show the monitor being recognized as a 'Sony HD FORU' monitor - I presume the FORU is an abbreviation for a Sony monitor. I have installed the driver from the included CD and no change. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver (after reboot), no change. I have never had a Sony monitor on this machine (Windows 7 SP1). The monitor I replaced was also a Samsung monitor. System is a Dell XPS 8700, 8 gigs RAM, 64 bit, graphics NVIDIA GeForce GF 635, Windows 7 Ultimate fully patched. Anybody having the same issue and did you resolve it? If yes, please share your experience. Much appreciated. Hey, it's on the web that you should not expect much over HDMI today. '*UPDATE* Nvidia driver update 337.61 does not fix the SLI issue with this monitor. The max resolution in SLI after installing 337.61 is still 1440p. Still waiting for a fix. *UPDATE 2* It has occurred to me that the way I worded my review makes it seem like this monitor does not work with SLI at all. If you use this monitor with HDMI it WILL work with SLI at 4k however it will not go above 30hz. The vast majority of people that purchase this monitor AND have multiple video cards will be using the DisplayPort connection. 30hz simply isn't fast enough for gaming. Sorry for any confusion and I hope this clears everything up. I will update one last time when Nvidia releases the fix.' NO ONE HAS A WORKING 4K HDMI over 30Hz solution. This appears to be by design. You must move to DisplayPort. Didn't Samsung and the seller warn you of this? Sorry - this is interesting information but my issue is that the computer is NOT recognizing the correct monitor. Everywhere you look (Device Manager, etc.) shows the correct Samsung monitor as being installed. However, when attempting to manipulate the display properties to change the default resolution to the higher resolution supported by this monitor, the drop down states that the installed monitor is a SONY HD FORU, and not the Samsung. I am attempting to get the monitor recognized so that I can adjust the video settings. Thanks for taking the time to answer.
